Superstorms and Global Warming
Every year, the tropics face the planet's most powerful storms—known as typhoons in the Pacific, cyclones in Australia, and hurricanes in the Atlantic. Despite their different names, these weather systems are born from nearly identical conditions and are among the most dangerous natural events on Earth. Hurricanes alone claim thousands of lives and cause billions in damage annually. But even with all our technological advancements, their sudden intensifications remain a mystery.
