CARTS OF DARKNESS
In North Vancouver, a group of homeless men have turned bottle picking into an unlikely extreme sport, racing shopping carts down steep hills at terrifying speed. This feature-length film by Murray Siple follows their lives, friendships and daring runs. It portrays street life with unexpected humour, danger and humanity, refusing to reduce its subjects to stereotypes. Raw and surprising, it finds freedom and dignity in the margins.
