Burma Campaign: The Forgotten Struggle of WW2

This documentary recovers the largely forgotten story of the West African soldiers who fought in the Burma Campaign during the Second World War. It follows a son retracing his father's service as a medical officer alongside troops from the Gold Coast in the brutal jungle war against Japan. Through personal history and archive, it restores the role of African divisions to the wider record. Moving and illuminating, it gives overdue recognition to soldiers long left out of the story.
