Madagascar: The Mikea and Vezo's Battle to Preserve Their Way of Life
In the remote southwest region of Madagascar, the Mikea and Vezo peoples coexist in an area of striking isolation. Inland, the Mikea, legendary hunter-gatherers, are being driven from the forest they have called home for generations. Along the coast, the Vezo, barred from traditional fishing, sustain themselves by cultivating seaweed for NGOs.
