This documentary explores the traditional rulers of Africa, from desert sultans to village kings, and the fading authority they once held. In Mali it follows the Dogon and their spiritual Hogon leaders, whose influence wanes as Islam grows stronger. The film asks what happens to community and heritage when the old thrones lose their power. It is a thoughtful portrait of tradition, faith and change across the continent.
