Extreme athlete Richard Parks attempts a solo climb of Mount Everest without supplemental oxygen—a feat reserved only for the world's elite climbers. But this is more than just a physical challenge. Parks is collaborating with scientists to conduct a groundbreaking, high-altitude experiment to find a link between the body's adaptation to extreme low-oxygen environments and the fight against dementia, the fastest-growing illness in the Western world.
