After the Escape – How Art Helps Refugees Feel at Home
Art is not normally associated with integration. But it can help. This film tells the stories of five immigrants who have enriched Germany's culture. Refugees have long used art and culture to make new homes for themselves in foreign lands. This stretches not only them, but their host country too. This film is about five refugees, named Judith Kerr, Aeham Ahmad, Saša Stanišić, Nneka Egbuna and Antonio Skármeta. Each came from a different continent, four settled in Germany.
