Professor David Wilson, a renowned criminologist, meets Bert Spencer, the prime suspect in the 1976 murder of 13-year-old Carl Bridgewater. Four men were wrongly convicted and later declared innocent. Bert, never charged for Carl’s murder, was convicted for killing farmer Wilkes in a similar manner.
