Trader Joe’s puts its name on almost everything it sells. While store brands, known as private labels, used to suggest poor quality, Trader Joe’s has made them cool. It has built a cult following for its seasonal products and frozen section. But the chain keeps one big secret: who makes its products. Because the company is privately held, it’s not required to disclose its suppliers. However, there is one loophole.
