BEAST FOR THE BALTIC SEA: Frigate "Mecklenburg-Vorpommern" - Furious Firepower against old Enemies Six months on a NATO mission: The frigate Mecklenburg-Vorpommern secures the alliance's northeastern flank at sea. With around 240 men and women on board, the crew trains for emergencies, monitors the Baltic Sea region, and regularly encounters the Russian Navy. As the flagship of NATO's Rapid Reaction Force, it plays a key role in defense strategy.
